Works Requiring a permit

All new construct of homes,  commercial building or
industrial complexes.

All Electrical work to wire, re-wire or change any
electrical device other than normal inside house hold
repairs.

All construction that involves the structural
integrity of the building.

All plumbing other than normal house hold repairs.

All mechanical work, furnace, air condition, work
other than normal maintenance or repairs.

All concrete work one cubic yard or more.

All decks, patios, porches, stairs, indoor or outdoor
and all carports or other structures build by normal
construction methods other than sheds 200 square feet
of smaller.

All mobile homes moved into or relocated within the
village where such structures are permitted, must have
a building permit and meet HUD standards.
Replacing siding and changing the skin on a structure
requires a permit unless new siding is installed over
existing siding..

NEW roofs requires permit.  Re-roofing also requires a
permit
EXEMPT

Permits are not required for landscaping,
installations of sprinkler systems, small retaining
wall 2' high,
Wall with rock. Block or bricks where concrete is not
involved.  Re-siding a house where structural work is
not involved.  Small construction not involving
structural changes to the home are exempt from a
permit.
